Common questions

Do I need any quality or statistics background?
None at all. The course was built for people at every level of an organisation, from frontline staff to executives. Every concept is introduced in plain language with a concrete example, and nothing assumes prior training in quality, statistics or manufacturing.
Is this an ASQ certification course?
No. This is a foundational course in quality management for business excellence, not exam preparation for a specific credential. It is, however, an excellent starting point before an ASQ certification course such as CQIA, CQA, CQE or CMQ/OE, because it establishes the core vocabulary and concepts those exams build on.
Does it apply to service organisations, or only manufacturing?
Both. The course deliberately treats quality in services alongside quality in manufacturing, covering how each is measured, how poor quality shows up differently, and what to do about it. Examples come from restaurants, hotels, car dealerships and offices as well as production lines.
How much ISO 9001:2015 does it cover?
A full walkthrough of the standard's structure, clause by clause, from scope and context of the organisation through leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation and improvement. You will also learn how ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and ISO 9004 differ, and what is and is not mandatory under the 2015 revision.
What are the PMI PDUs and SHRM PDCs for?
PDUs (Professional Development Units) count toward maintaining your PMI certification, such as the PMP or CAPM. PDCs (Professional Development Credits) count toward maintaining your SHRM certification, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. Both are awarded on successful completion of the course.
